Professional Bio

Mr. Sparry is GAI’s Assistant Environmental Director, and oversees and coordinates GAI’s siting and environmental efforts for transmission facilities. He brings over 35 years of experience in the siting and permitting of electric power generation and transmission facilities with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to GAI. His range of power generation experience includes: renewables, fossil, nuclear, pumped storage, and gas turbines. His power delivery experience includes transmission and substation facilities at the 69kV, 161kV, and 500kV levels. He has served as project manager and general manager for over 100 project siting and licensing activities and has participated in the siting, design, permitting, and construction of thousands of miles of transmission lines in Tennessee (TN), Georgia (GA), Alabama (AL), Mississippi (MS), North Carolina (NC), and Kentucky (KY). Additionally, he has contributed to and provided leadership for the development of numerous Categorical Exclusion Check list, Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impact Statements.. Mr. Sparry has provided expert witness testimony in the U.S. Federal District courts in TN and KY, and has provided expert testimony and documentation to various state regulatory agencies. He has provided leadership for over 40 project public input/information meetings held for property owners, the general public, and regulatory agencies.
