2020 FMEA Webinar: Hot Spots: Using COVID-19 Data to Inform Travel

FMEA Virtual Roundtable

Thursday, June 25, 2020
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM (EDT)
FMEA GoToMeeting

The number of COVID-19 positive cases in an area, based on CDC data, is not the only bit of information that utilities should take into consideration when developing travel or vacation policies for their employees while the threat of exposure looms large.

Ken ZambitoKen Zambito, VP of Transmission at OUC, developed a unique approach using data from Johns Hopkins University to better determine areas of elevated risk that includes such considerations as density of population and recency of positive test results.

Each week this list is updated and OUC uses it to determine whether testing, remote work, or self-quarantine is required before an employee returns to work at the utility following personal travel.

FMEA invites all its public power members to join us for a presentation of this process and a conversation around current travel and vacation policies for utility employees as risks of spreading coronavirus remain a concern.
