FMEA Releases Monthly Bill Comparison Report for July 2025
FMEA’s Electric Bill Comparison for July 2025 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are among the lowest in the state, coming in at an average of $34.05 lower than the average bills of other utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories, the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in seven categories, the City of Alachua reported the lowest in four categories, the City of Moore Haven reported the lowest bills in three categories, and Homestead Public Services reported the lowest bills in one category.
For residential bills, the City of Alachua reported the lowest rates in two categories, while Homestead Public Services reported the lowest rates in one category.
For commercial bills, out of eight categories, the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in four categories, while the City of Alachua and the City of Moore Haven reported the lowest bills in two categories each.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories, the City of Mount Dora reported the lowest bills in three categories, and the City of Moore Haven reported the lowest bills in one category.
The FMEA Electric Bill Comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of six percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
