OUC's Clint Bullock Named to 'Florida 500' for Fifth Consecutive Year

Community,

OUC LogoClint Bullock, General Manager & CEO of OUC The Reliable One, has been named to Florida Trend’s “Florida 500” list in the Energy category for the fifth consecutive year. Compiled annually by the business magazine’s editors, the special section highlights the 500 most influential business leaders in different industries and economic sectors throughout the state. Bullock is one of eight utility industry executives selected.

“It is an honor to be recognized among such a diverse list of impactful business leaders in our state,” said Bullock. “I consider this to be recognition for OUC’s innovative solutions and the hard work of our entire team.”

Orlando native Bullock joined OUC in 1989 and was named General Manager & CEO in 2018. In 2020, he announced that OUC was committed to reaching net zero CO2 emissions by 2050 by increasing its use of renewable energy and implementing other innovative technology. The pledge features interim CO2 reduction goals of 50% by 2030 and 75% by 2040.

As part of this goal, OUC has undertaken several initiatives, including a commitment to growing its investments in solar energy, energy storage, electric vehicle infrastructure and energy conservation, including with its own facilities. The new St. Cloud Operations & Maintenance Center, set to open in spring 2024, will be the first net zero energy campus in Florida built for a utility.

Two 74.5 megawatt solar farms are scheduled to open in 2024, joining three existing sites that produce 121.5 megawatts. OUC is also at the forefront of “floating solar,” which places solar arrays on stormwater retention ponds due to limited land availability. A 2-megawatt system opening this year will be the largest in the southeastern U.S.

Additionally, OUC will invest $45 million in innovative electrification programs like the Robinson ReCharge Mobility Hub, which features 21 Level 3 EV charging stations in downtown Orlando. Opened in July 2023, it is the largest facility of its kind in Florida and one of the largest in the nation.

With Bullock at the helm, OUC earned recognition in 20202022, and 2023 as the #1 “Most Trusted Brand” among U.S. energy providers, according to national customer surveys conducted by Escalent, a leading market research firm. For its solar commitments, OUC has been named a “SunRiser” by the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy for the fifth consecutive year. Also, OUC earned the top scores in Florida on the Sierra Club’s 20212022, and 2023 Clean Energy Report Cards.

Under Bullock’s leadership, employee health and safety are top priorities, resulting in OUC’s inclusion in the 2023 Healthiest 100 Workplaces in America list compiled by Healthiest Employers® for the sixth consecutive year.

Bullock holds an MBA from Rollins College and a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Central Florida.
