FMEA’s Electric Bill Comparison for February 2023 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are $16.33 less than the average bills for investor-owned utilities per 1,000 kWh.

Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories, the City of Quincy reported the lowest bills in ten categories, the City of Williston in three categories, the City of Chattahoochee in one category and the City of Tallahassee in one category.

For residential bills, out of three categories, the City of Williston reported the lowest rates in two categories and the City of Chattahoochee in one category.

For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories, the City of Quincy reported the lowest bills in six categories, and the City of Tallahassee and City of Williston in one category each.

In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories, the City of Quincy reported the lowest bills in all four categories.

The FMEA Electric Bill Comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of six percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
