KEYS Honored with Two Statewide Awards for Community and Communications Initiatives
Keys Energy Services (KEYS) was recently honored by the Florida Municipal Electric Association (FMEA) with two statewide awards for its community and communications initiatives.
KEYS earned the ‘Building Strong Communities’ Award in recognition of its programs that directly enrich the Florida Keys community, including its "Days of Giving" volunteer initiative and 22nd Tree Giveaway. This honor celebrates utilities that invest in local quality of life, beyond delivering affordable and reliable energy.
KEYS was also recognized with an inaugural Communications Award for its 30th annual energy conservation art contest and calendar. KEYS’ calendar initiative engages local students and promotes energy-saving habits across the community year-round. The Communications Award honors Florida public power utilities that excel in raising public power awareness across multiple channels.
“Our highest priority is serving the Lower Keys, and these recognitions reflect our ongoing commitment to enriching the community we are proud to call home,” said Lynne Tejeda, KEYS’ General Manager & CEO.
The awards were presented on November 3 at the FMEA Energy Connections Conference in Tampa. Florida’s 33 public power utilities serve more than 4 million residential and business customers statewide and employ more than 5,800 Floridians.
