Richard Mark Flury Appointed Vice President of Engineering & Operations
Kissimmee Utility Authority has appointed Richard Mark Flury as the utility's vice president of engineering and operations, effective July 14. With over 25 years of engineering experience, Flury will bring a wealth of knowledge and insight to KUA.
Flury will report to KUA President and General Manager Brian Horton and will oversee the utility's transmission and distribution, GIS, substation maintenance, materials management, fleet operations, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), relay, and dispatch and compliance divisions.
Prior to joining KUA, Flury worked at Snohomish County Public Utility District (PUD) No. 1 since 2011, most recently serving as Senior Manager of Transmission & Distribution, System Operations & Engineering. During his tenure with Snohomish County PUD, Flury provided leadership for the following workgroups: Transmission Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Plat Engineering, Real Estate, GIS, Maps & Records, Joint Use and Permitting, Standards Engineering, Scheduling, Energy Control Center, System Planning & Protection, and Operations Technologies. Prior to 2011, Flury held consulting roles, managing projects in civil engineering, land planning, and land surveying for engineering firms.
Flury, an Army veteran, holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Civil Engineering from University of Illinois and also holds a Professional Engineer license from the state of Washington.
