Second Implosion at C.D. McIntosh Jr. Power Plant, Unit 3

Lakeland Electric’s leading industrial demolition contractor, Total Wrecking & Environmental, will implode the second phase of the Lakeland power plant project by felling the 255-foot boiler on Saturday, March 4 at 11:00 a.m.

The public is invited to safely watch the implosion from Lake Parker Park at 11:00.

East Lake Parker Drive and a portion of Lake Parker will be closed beginning at 10:15 a.m. the morning of the implosion.

This is the final implosion at the demolition site and the last portion of our only coal-fired generator. The land cleared by the demolition will be used for future development of Lakeland Electric’s generating fleet.
