About the Forum

Hurricane season is almost here. As public power utilities, we have an enormous responsibility to our customers and communities to efficiently restore power to their homes and businesses after a storm. One thing we found is that when used properly, our mutual aid program works well during times of disaster and need. When our customers are faced with major outages, it is vital that we communicate effectively so that we can provide and receive assistance quickly and efficiently as possible.

This forum will provide an overview of the 2018 hurricane season including lessons learned and best practices, mutual aid operations and procedures, information regarding the FEMA public assistance process, and an opportunity to network with fellow utility peers.
