City of Green Cove Springs Announces Mike Null as Interim City Manager
The City of Green Cove Springs is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Null as Interim City Manager, effective November 15, 2025, following the retirement of City Manager Steve Kennedy.
Null, who currently serves as the Assistant City Manager and Public Works Director, brings over 22 years of dedicated service and leadership to the City. Throughout his tenure, he has played a key role in overseeing major infrastructure improvements, facility upgrades, and community enhancement projects that have strengthened the City’s operations and services.
“Mike’s extensive experience, deep understanding of City operations, and commitment to the community make him a strong choice to lead during this transition,” said Mayor Matt Johnson. “He is highly respected by both City staff and the community, and City Council has full confidence in his ability to continue advancing our priorities and supporting our employees and residents.”
As Interim City Manager, Null will oversee all City departments and continue implementing key initiatives aimed at maintaining efficient operations and fostering the City’s ongoing growth.
With Null’s transition to Interim City Manager, Greg Bauer and Scott Schultz will assume leadership of the Public Works Department. Together, they bring decades of experience and a deep understanding of City infrastructure and services, ensuring the department continues to operate efficiently and effectively during this transition.
City Council will begin the process of recruiting a permanent City Manager in the coming months.
