FMEA would like to welcome our new Associate Members Electrical Consultants, Inc. and Sensus
Please always remember the companies who support FMEA and the Florida Public Power community first when you need to purchase goods or services!
ECI was incorporated in 1985 as a result of the purchase of the telephone engineering division of its predecessor, Associated Engineers. ECI established a small office in Billings, MT to continue to serve the public utility and industrial clients that the firm had worked with for up to 25 years. Since its humble beginnings, the company has grown significantly to a staff of approximately 800 professionals located across more than 33 offices nationwide.
ECI focuses on providing only power delivery services, our large staff is inclusive of all civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, survey and high-technology disciplines to support any power delivery project.
These projects focus on substations, switchyards, OH & UG transmission lines, all types of communications projects, power supply and system study services, wind & solar generation, battery energy storage, industrial and hydrogen facilities nationwide. ECI is experienced through 765 kV system voltages and has supported numerous high technology applications (STATCOMs, SVCs, FSCs, PSTs, HVDC, Superconducting Power Delivery).

Sensus, a Xylem brand
Sensus, a Xylem brand, provides data-driven insights to help utilities, cooperatives and municipalities work smarter. Our technology combines residential and commercial metrology and sensors with the FlexNet® communication network, software and services. At the foundation of a smart utility is integrated communication, and with the two-way, private FlexNet system, customers can proactively collect data to help manage electric, water and gas systems.
Our portfolio of smart technology includes the Stratus IQTM residential electricity meter which enhances distribution system management. It is the first meter in the industry to have four data streams from a single, smart device. With the horsepower of a commercial and industrial meter, Stratus IQ delivers more data, faster.
At the heart of the Stratus IQ is a software-defined metrology that allows utilities to adapt the smart meter to the ever-changing world of electricity metering. Instead of swapping out meters to get the latest features, they can be downloaded via the network which improves efficiency, cost and safety for the energy provider.
