KEYSThe Operator/ Maintainer provides for the safe, effective operation and maintenance of a simple-cycle combustion turbine and diesel facility, including start up and shut down of plant systems, main combustion turbines, and diesel engines.  

  • Operate and monitor all power plant equipment. 
    1. Start/stop and raise/lower loads on diesel and turbine generators.
    2. Record operational performance of all power plant equipment.
    3. Check equipment alignment and correct as required.
  • Direct and provide on-the-job training for apprentices.
  • Receive fuel and oversee the transfer to KEYS tanks in accordance with fuel regulations.
  • Repair and maintain diesel engines, turbines, generators, and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Assist the Instrumental & Electrical Section with maintenance of equipment and facilities.
  • Utilize the lock out/tag out system.
  • Collect data in compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to meet environmental regulations.
  • Perform minor welding, cutting, and fabrication of metals.  Welding will only include metals that are familiar to the Operator/Maintainer
  • Operate equipment such as forklift, crane, hoists, truck, drill press, lathe, machinist tools, oxygen and acetylene torches, etc.

Starting pay rate: $40.15/hr - $44.97/hr
