FMEA Releases Monthly Electric Bill Comparison for March 2020
FMEA’s Electric Bill Comparison for March 2020 shows the average bills of public power utilities across Florida are $18.65 less than the average bills for investor-owned utilities per 1,000 kWh.
Overall, out of fifteen ranked categories; the City of Starke reported the lowest bills in seven categories. Lakeland Electric reported the lowest bills in six categories while the cities of Tallahassee and Williston reported the lowest in one each.
For residential bills, out of three categories; the City of Starke reported the lowest bills in two categories and the City of Williston in one.
For commercial bills, out of eight ranked categories Lakeland Electric reported the lowest bills in five categories; the City of Starke reported the lowest bills in two and the City of Tallahassee in one.
In the industrial sector, out of four ranked categories; the City of Starke reported the lowest bills in three categories and Lakeland Electric in one.
The FMEA Electric Bill Comparison provides a fair comparison of customer bills served by different utilities. The report includes utility rates, average franchise fees of 6 percent, and local payments in lieu of taxes.
